THE AVANT - GARDE AFFAIR OF THE SEASON
CHICAGO - On April 22nd top tier creatives will join forces at the Hotel Sax to celebrate avant-garde creativity as part of STYLEWARS2010 presented by VYNE. The event will begin at 7PM and include a runway presentation overseen by honorary guests Candace Jordan, Gordon Wood (Chanel),Rino Burdi( Burdi),Nancy Good( Artists by Timothy Priano), Jane Stewart (Stewart Model and Talent), Jeff Sciortino (Sciortino) and other notable fashion figures of the city.
The event is expected to draw more than 500 guests to the illustrious Sax Hotel in support of a multitude of visual and musical artists, designers, and moreover 8 stylists vying for a chance to win a contract with the acclaimed Timothy Priano Agency. Stylists are also competing for an editorial in VYNE Magazine shot with the acclaimed Jeff Scortino, a chance to direct a window at a top Chicago retailer and win bragging rites as top Chicago stylist.
Stylists will be creating "collections" for the runway showcase by pulling clothing and accessories from local designers as a way of featuring local fashion in a new more sustainable light. Through the use of stylists, the artist which make fashion come to light, VYNE is involving the pervasive Chicago creative fashion scene. The event will also include performances from upcoming major music acts including Nikki Lynette and her latest single "Model in the Mirror".
General access into the event is $35.00 and private reception tickets are $60.00. Sponsor ABSOLUT will provide a complimentary bar with one-of-a-kind cocktails created for the event by award winning mixologists. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Chicago Fashion Foundation which VYNE avidly supports. Event passes may be purchased at stylewars2010.com. The Chicago Fashion Foundation is a dynamic group of working professionals and students committed to supporting Fashion in Chicago. We are made up of an eclectic mix of women and men encompassing every aspect of the Fashion Industry from designers to manufacturers to stylists to fashion writers & editors to accountants and lawyers.
What we have in common is our love of fashion, knowledge that Chicago is an incredible city of style and our commitment to promote Chicago's Fashion industry worldwide.
We host networking events, panels with speakers, and hold an annual scholarship competition for design students in Chicago.
